20% student discount on domestic airfare takes effect
Beginning November 1 students can avail a 20% discount upon booking domestic airline flights as confirmed by Civil Aeronautics Board.
According to Civil Aeronautics Board or CAB, who released the guidelines for Republic Act No. 11314, also known as the Student Fare Discount Act., the rules cover local carriers and students enrolled in any elementary, secondary, technical or higher educational institution.
But does not cover those enrolled in postgraduate and other informal short-term courses like swimming, music, driving lessons, and seminary-type course.
To avail of the discount, the student must present school ID, validated enrollment form, and at least one of the following documents: birth certificate, baptismal certificate, latest school record, naturalization certificate or passport.
The RA 11314, signed by President Duterte on April 17, covers the Student Fare Discount Act that granted students a 20% fare discount when traveling via PUVs in the country. This includes all public transportation utilities such as buses, jeepneys, taxis, vehicles for hire, tricycles, passenger trains, and marine vessels. -Inquirer
